About Wood Screw

Wood Screw is a puzzle of consequences. Wooden plates are held together by bolts, and your job is to remove those bolts so the plates fall away and the board clears. Every screw you pull changes what the remaining structure is resting on, so the order is the entire puzzle. The physics are the mechanism rather than decoration — plates fall the way their remaining supports allow, which means a plate can end up wedged somewhere it cannot be freed from. Bolt placements grow more intricate as levels progress, and the game is explicit that thinking before unscrewing is the skill being tested. It is a calm game with a genuinely punishing failure mode, which is a combination that suits it well.

How to Play

On desktop, click a screw with the mouse to remove it. On mobile, tap a screw to do the same. Plates fall once the bolts supporting them are gone, and your goal is to clear the board. Plan the order carefully — pulling the wrong bolt first can leave a wooden plate stuck with no way to free it.

Tips & Tricks

Work out which plate needs to fall last before you remove anything, then clear the ones above it in order. The most common failure is freeing a plate early and having it land across the bolts you still needed to reach. If a level looks like it has an obvious first move, check what that plate will be resting on afterwards before committing.
