About the Game Selection
Browser gaming has come a long way since the early days of Flash. Modern HTML5 games run at smooth frame rates, support touchscreens, and pack in mechanics that rival what you would find in premium mobile apps. The challenge is not finding browser games — there are hundreds of thousands of them across dozens of platforms. The challenge is finding the good ones.
That is the whole point of Zork Games. I pull from a licensed HTML5 catalogue and then throw most of it away. Games with gambling, adult, or violent content are filtered out. So are the endless unlicensed clones trading on characters their developers do not own. What is left gets sorted by genre, and anything the sort cannot place confidently is dropped rather than dumped into a catch-all bucket. It is a filter, not a hand-review of every title — but it is a strict one, and it removes far more than it keeps.
The catalogue spans seven categories designed to cover the major ways people enjoy casual browser gaming. Puzzle games for focused, meditative sessions. Action games for the quick-reflex adrenaline hits. Arcade games for the high-score chasing and the retro nostalgia. Racing games for the speed and competition.
